H. Manuel is a first-year M.A. student in Hispanic Literatures. He received a B.A. in Languages and Cultures: Spanish, and a B.A. in Teacher Education from Stockton University. He also received an M.A.ED in Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction with a concentration in ESL and Bilingual Education from the same institution. His main research interest at the moment is centered around sexuality and gender studies in the Hispanic Caribbean. As of right now, his research has been limited to Puerto Rico. However, he is looking to expand it to Cuba and the Dominican Republic, as well as to the big cities in the United States where there is a big number of Caribbean immigrants due to their sexual and gender identities. He is also interested in national narratives and identity in the Caribbean and within the Nuyorican movement.
