Alexandria is a Ph.D. candidate of Hispanic Literatures at Indiana University. She received her M.A. from Indiana University in 2017 and a B.A. with honors in Spanish and International Relations from the University of Denver in 2015. Her research focuses on colonial encounters between the Spaniards and the native populations in central Mexico from the point of contact through the early, post-conquest era. She is particularly interested in the visual representations of these events. Her work extends to examine how the relationships and cultures developed in this era have translated through modernity in discussions of identity.
