Originally from Florida, Matthew is a Ph.D. student in the Hispanic Linguistics program. He received B.A.s in Spanish and English Literature from Auburn University, and an M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics from Indiana University. His current research interests are sociolinguistics, language acquisition, and Computer-Mediated Discourse. Before beginning his graduate studies in 2016, he taught English for a year just outside Hamburg, Germany as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. Nowadays, he enjoys visiting unfamiliar cities, hiking down winding mountain paths, and relaxing with a good old paper-based e-book in his spare time.
