Tingting Zhang is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the Hispanic Literatures Program. She comes from China, where she received her M.A. from Beijing Language and Culture University. She studied Spanish for a year at the University of Havana, Cuba, as an undergrad. Drawing on theories of ideology, psychoanalysis, and affect studies, she proposes to investigate the Central American postwar narratives as a literary response to the socio-historical process of this area, specifically referring to the revolution and counterrevolution, U.S. intervention, narco-violence, among others, during the late 20th and early 21st century.
