Ashley Crouse Memorial Scholarship

Ashley Crouse Memorial Scholarship

Ashley Crouse was pursuing a double major in Spanish and Political Science and was a student in the LAMP program. She participated in the Indiana University High School Honors program in Valencia, Spain while she was still a student at Carmel High School, and during the summer of 2004 she studied in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Ashley was highly involved in many campus activities, including the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and the IU Dance Marathon, which raises funds to support Riley Children’s Hospital. This scholarship was initiated by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese in memory of Ashley Crouse, to provide partial support to a student planning to study abroad during the summer.

This scholarship rewards academic merit in addition to a commitment to the study of Spanish. Applicants must have at least a 3.00 grade point average and be students of Indiana University Bloomington. In selecting a recipient for this award, priority will be given to applicants who exhibit one or more of the following characteristics:

  • Accepted to an IU administered or co-sponsored study abroad program in the Spanish-speaking world (until IU reopens its summer program in Cuernavaca, Mexico)
  • Students who are pursuing multiple academic interests
  • Students who will be entering at least their third year of study after the term of the award (i.e., current sophomores or juniors)
