Bree is a Doctoral student in the Hispanic Literatures program in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at IU. She holds a B.A. in both Psychology and Spanish from The Ohio State University where she researched the reclaiming and preservation of culture in a post-Franco Spain. Bree has recently graduated from Florida State University with a MA in Spanish Literature and Culture, and she had successfully defended her thesis titled "El Retablo de las Maravillas: Cervantes' Satire of Medieval Spanish Anxieties". Bree has also presented at the FSU Fellows Forum in the Spring of 2021 with her presentation "Reclaiming Jewish Culture and Identity to Rebuild and Reestablish Community". Her research interests center around the Sephardic Jews of Spain, how they were transformed into an "other", the diaspora and subsequent re-entrance of Jews into modern day Spain.
