ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, HISPANIC LINGUISTICS
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin in the fall of 2024. We seek an individual with expertise in Second Language Acquisition, with emphasis on Psycholinguistics and/or bilingualism. We are looking for a colleague who is committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels (M.A. and Ph.D.) in different areas of Hispanic Linguistics. The ideal candidate will complement existing strengths within the department, will be eager to collaborate with students and faculty, and display a strong record of (continued) scholarly productivity. Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics (or equivalent) is required at time of appointment, as is native/near-native proficiency in English and Spanish; third language proficiency in Portuguese, Catalan, or an indigenous language is a plus. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

TWO LECTURER POSITIONS IN SPANISH
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Indiana University invites applications for two full-time Lecturer positions in Spanish to begin August 2024. These are initially three-year appointments with the potential for renewal, and in the sixth year, promotion to the rank of senior lecturer. Duties include teaching three courses per semester with the possibility of supervisory duties and accompanying course reduction. Qualifications: native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, MA (PhD preferred) in Spanish or related field, and a minimum of 3-4 years of teaching experience at the college/university level. Evidence of excellence in teaching college-level Spanish is required. Candidates with a solid background in the communicative approach are preferred. We are looking especially for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following: teaching Spanish for the professions (especially STEM, business, and law professions); teaching Spanish as a heritage language; online teaching and computer-assisted instruction. Interest in leading a study abroad program is a plus.
