Genoveva Di Maggio is a Ph.D. student in Hispanic Linguistic originally from Uruguay. She received a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from Ceara State University, Brazil. Genoveva also completed her post-graduation program in Teaching the Spanish Language from College Ateneu in Brazil. Besides that, she received an M.A. degree in Arts in Spanish from Ohio University. Her research interests include Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics, and Second Language Acquisition. Her recent works deal with politeness in different varieties of Spanish as well as on the acquisition of mood and mood alternation abilities in L2 Spanish.
