Mark Fitzsimmons is a Ph.D. student in Hispanic Literatures. He received his B.A. in Hispanic Studies from Hamilton College, his M.A. in International Development Studies from the George Washington University, and his M.A. in Hispanic Literatures from Indiana University, Bloomington. His research interests relate to questions of nation and citizenship in contemporary United States Latina/o poetry. His current work focuses particular attention on the aesthetics of bilingualism and translation in contemporary poetry. He is additionally co-founder and editor of the literary and arts publication Hiedra Magazine.
