Tom Goebel-Mahrle is a Ph.D. student of Hispanic Linguistics. He obtained his B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan and his M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics from The University of New Mexico. Tom's research interests include morphosyntactic variation, acquisition of tense, mood, and aspect, bilingualism in situations of language contact, and variationist approaches to second language acquisition. His recent investigations center on child heritage speakers' production of gender agreement and code-switching in telenovelas
