Macy is a Ph.D. student in Hispanic Linguistics at Indiana University. During her studies in Buenos Aires at the Universidad Católica de Argentina through Loras College, her lifelong interest in languages grew into a passion for the Spanish language and its speakers. She received her B.A. in Spanish and International Studies from Loras College in 2020. Following her undergraduate studies, she would go on to advocate for the rights of those speakers in the U.S. as a paralegal in immigration and criminal law. In 2023, she obtained her Master´s in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Iowa. Her research interests include phonology, phonetics, and language acquisition. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and searching out neighborhood puppies.
