Miguel Roman is a Ph.D. student of Hispanic Linguistics. He obtained a dual B.A. in Linguistics and Foreign Languages (Spanish / Japanese) and a dual M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics and Brazilian Literature from the University of New Mexico. His research interests include sociophonetics, second language and heritage language acquisition of phonology, and multilingualism in the context of heritage Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese in Latin America and Japan.
