Israel Fernando Herrera has been elected Board Member of the AEPE (European Association of Teachers of Spanish) for 2013-16 and will serve as the US Representative for the organization. Herrera is a Lecturer in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and regular presenter in the AEPE annual Congress. He presented in the last AEPE congress that took place in Jaca, Aragon (Spain).
The European Association of Teachers of Spanish is a professional organization that was created in 1967 at the International University Menéndez Pelayo of Santander (Spain). It fosters the sharing of ideas related to Spanish-language research and pedagogy, as well as promoting Hispanic culture and language in classroom teaching. Its members are teachers of Spanish working in Europe, Latin America and the USA.
