Edgar Illas is recipient of "2013 North American Catalan Society Prize for Outstanding Work in Catalan Studies" for his book, Thinking Barcelona: Ideologies of a Global City, published by Liverpool University Press in 2012.
The prize, which was awarded at the University of Toronto on May 24, 2013 during the Fourteenth Colloquium of the NACS, recognizes the best contribution to the field of Catalan Studies over the past three years made by scholars affiliated with North American universities.
