About M. Gabriela Puscama

My research focuses on Second Language Acquisition and Psycholinguistics, with a special interest in adult Spanish learners. Within SLA, I specialize in vocabulary teaching and learning and the development of efficient lexicons in L2 learners. I am particularly interested in the translation of experimental findings into pedagogical improvements for the L2 classroom. I use Psycholinguistics methods, including eye-tracking and other behavioral measures, to study the psychological underpinnings of L2 learning and processing. These techniques provide insight into the developing lexicon of learners, by measuring vocabulary retrieval during comprehension and production in real time. Additionally, I use network modelling to study the semantic structure of the lexicon at different stages of learning.
