Nick Blumenau is a Ph.D. student in Hispanic Linguistics. Hailing from Michigan, he completed a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature with a minor in Business Administration at Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI and an M.A. in Hispanic Studies at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Nick completed a second M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics at Indiana University making him a M.A.M.A. In addition to a Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics at IU, he is also pursuing a minor in Hispanic Literatures. His main research interests are Instructed Second Language Acquisition, Pragmatics, Heritage Language Speakers and Pedagogy, Phonetics and Phonology, Task-Based Language Teaching, Concept-Based Instruction, Individual Differences, and Critical Language Awareness. Nick enjoys reading, listening to music, trying new foods, running, hiking, taking long walks on short beaches, biking, shooting archery, playing the sports, and throwing playing cards.
