A Ph.D. student in Portuguese at Indiana University, Antoniele holds a Ph.D. (2024) and a Master's degree (2020) in Literary Studies, both obtained by Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), in Brazil. For the last seven years, she has researched Black Women Writing, including a period (2022-2023) as a research scholar at the University of Georgia. Antoniele also has significant experience teaching Portuguese and academic writing to students from middle school to graduate level. Before starting her career in Education, she worked as journalist for a decade in some of the main Brazilian newspapers. Her current research interests include Lusophone and Caribbean Literature, Transatlantic Dialogues, Testimony, and intersections between Gender and Race.
