Gibran Delgado-Daz is a Ph.D. candidate in the Hispanic Linguistics program. His areas of interest are Sociolinguistics, Laboratory Phonology and Second Language Acquisition. His research focuses on Caribbean Spanish, especially Puerto Rican Spanish. His dissertation titled "Variation of the Spanish Past Forms examines the use of the preterit, imperfect, imperfect progressive, preterit progressive and present perfect in Puerto Rican Spanish."
