Gaby is a Doctoral student in Hispanic Linguistics at Indiana University. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Universidad Católica de Quito, Ecuador. In 2019, she completed a Master’s in Spanish at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In 2022, she received a Master’s degree in Educational Policies from Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar in Quito. Her research interests include Spanish syntax, Spanish contact with other languages, Spanish language teaching, sociolinguistics, and language discrimination. Gaby has been involved in linguistic and language revitalization projects with indigenous communities in Ecuador and has worked as a Spanish teacher for several years.
