Amina is currently finishing her dissertation on "History, Memory and Trauma in Contemporary Afro-Latin American and Afro-Caribbean Literature by Women." Her minor concentrations are African Studies and Portuguese. She holds a Masters of Literatures in Spanish from Indiana University Bloomington and a Masters of Science in International Economics from Suffolk University, Boston. Born in Belgium and raised in several African countries, Amina attributes her passion for foreign languages and cultures to her residence in multiple cultural contexts. Her research interests include Afro-Latin American literature, Caribbean and United States Latino literatures. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching foreign films, going to museums, gardening, playing piano and knitting.
