Chase is a dual Ph.D. student in French Linguistics and Hispanic Linguistics. He completed a dual B.A. in Spanish and French (Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, 2017) and his M.A. in French Linguistics (Indiana University, 2019). His primary. research interests include Sociolinguistics, Language Contact, Historical Linguistics, and Phonology. He is interested in synchronic and diachronic sociophonological variation in bilingual communities (in particular, North American bilingual French-English and Spanish-English communities) as well as variation in northern Spain/southern France (in Occitan and Catalan speaking communities). In his free time, Chase enjoys volunteering and traveling.
