Department of Spanish and Portuguese

Come and enjoy music in Spanish and Portuguese with your classmates and friends. You will have the opportunity to win prizes during the festival and also vote for the Audience's favorite.  Free event.

Auditions will be held from Feb 23^rd to March 2^nd.  A flyer with a link to sign up is attached.  We are currently looking for performers in the following:

• Vocal performance of a song in Spanish or Portuguese (solo, duo, or group).  The song may be originally composed in the language or translated. 
• Instrumental performance of a piece from a composer with Hispanophone/Lusophone origins.

Winner comes away with $150.00 dollars, a trophy and certificate!

Second and Third place will also receive money, trophy and a certificate   

To qualify:

• Students must be non-native speakers of Spanish and Portuguese.
• Students who have never competed in the Song Festival (and no previous festival winners)
• Students who are notenrolled in the Jacobs School of Music as a major or minor.

All participants must provide their own accompaniment, including karaoke tracks, accompanist, and/or band. Please inform the Festival organizers at pjcoats@iu.edu if you require additional hookups for instruments.
