The first is the dedication of our two Hispanic linguistics laboratories, now renamed as the Kimberly L. Geeslin Hispanic Linguistics Laboratories. These spaces will feature a complete collection of Kim’s nine books and the 20 dissertations she directed, in addition to books in which Kim contributed. The Hispanic Linguistics faculty hope these resources serve as a continuous reminder of Kim’s dedication to excellence in the profession and indefatigable integrity and advocacy of her mentees, and we encourage alumni to stop by and spend some time in the spaces when in Bloomington.
The second initiative, the Kimberly L. Geeslin Memorial Scholar Hub, is a collaboration with IU Libraries and is the first memorial scholar hub available at IUB. This fully online hub can be accessed here and contains direct links to all nine books and the 85 chapters and articles written during her career.
Together, these resources increase access to Kim’s impressive scholarly contributions during her time at IUB. For the many of us who cite and use her work in our own research and teaching, I hope they will serve as a reminder of the lasting difference that one person can make when they work and live with such warmth and love.
