- Course Description
This course explores in detail the sound system (phonology) of Spanish based largely on acoustic details (phonetics). A portion of the course will be dedicated to phonological processes. We will also discuss variation within Spanish, both social and dialectal, and challenges faced by English speaking learners of Spanish. The course delivery includes both lecture and student presentations of specific topics. Evaluation will be based on homework assignments, exams, presentations, and a final paper/project.
