IU short-term summer program in Lisbon

In this IU administered summer program, you’ll study the culture, history and art of one the oldest European capitals. Participants go on excursions led by IU faculty throughout the city to enhance the learning experience. Explore Portugal's global connections to Asia, Africa, and Brazil.

Lisbon, Portugal: CIEE semester program

Earn 15-18 IU credit hours through this CIEE co-sponsored Language and Culture semester program based in Lisbon, the historic, urban capital city of Portugal known for its architecture and hilly landscape. Begin with a 2-week intensive Portuguese language and culture pre-session course (taught in English for CIEE students) or direct enrollment in courses with Portuguese students through the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the School of Economics. Live with a Portuguese family or in a residence hall.

To qualify, you must be in at least your third full-time semester of college and have taken or are enrolled in second semester college-level Portuguese. An academic year option is available to qualified students.
