Rachel DiPietro-James Scholarship

Rachel DiPietro-James Scholarship

Rachel Marie DiPietro-James was a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Spanish with a strong interest in Argentina. She was also enthusiastic about theater, culinary arts, building friendships, and working with children as a camp counselor. She spent a year in Buenos Aires with her family while in high school and was planning to return to spend her junior year of college there through the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). She died tragically in a car accident in February 2008.

As a way to honor Rachel’s memory, the Rachel DiPietro-James Scholarship in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese is awarded annually to an undergraduate student who has been accepted into the CIEE Study Abroad in Argentina Program. All applicants to the program will be considered for the Rachel DiPietro-James Scholarship.
