Professor Laura Gurzynski-Weiss has been selected to join IU FACET (The Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching). Prof. Gurzynski-Weiss is the 9th faculty member from our department to be inducted in this prestigious university organization. IU FACET is a Presidential Initiative of Indiana University introduced in 1989 that seeks to identify colleagues who have made consequential contributions to our students and who demonstrate promise in further enhancing the effectiveness of our teaching and learning missions. Her efforts on behalf of teaching and learning have favorably impressed the IU Statewide Selection Committee to bestow on her this special university recognition. Previous FACET inductees from our department are: Catherine Larson (1991), Edward Friedman (1995), Joseph Clements (2004), Kim Geeslin (2005), Melissa Dinverno (2006), Israel F. Herrera (2014), Virginia Hojas (2019), Allen Davis (2021).
