Andres is a Colombian Ph.D. student in Hispanic Linguistics and a Fulbright alumnus. He completed his B.A. in Bilingual Education from Institución Universitaria Colombo Americana – ÚNICA and his M.A. in Spanish Teaching from Northern Arizona University. Andres has taught English in Colombia to people of different ages and backgrounds and Spanish in the U.S. at the university level. His areas of interest are second language acquisition, cognitive linguistics, teachers' and students' cognition, teachers' and students' self-efficacy, language assessment, heritage learning, material design, and the acquisition of syntax and semantics. More specifically, he is interested in the acquisition of the aspect in Spanish. He wishes to create materials to help other teachers address the complexities of Time and Aspect of Spanish in the classroom.
