Letter from the Chair
Dear Alumni and Friends,
Welcome back to another academic year! After a challenging 2021-2022 academic year, there is news of an increase of graduate student stipends to $22,000 and the elimination of mandatory fees. While there is some work to do to improve the conditions for graduate students, this is a first step in the right direction and I’m glad that we are moving forward. These have been difficult times for all of us, but the strength of our departmental community and our commitment to diversity and inclusion have not wavered.
