Letter from the Chair
Dear alumni and friends,
Greetings from Bloomington, where faculty and students of Spanish and Portuguese are continuing their research, teaching, and learning despite some recent confusing news!
It was another eventful year for us in the Department, and for the Bloomington campus. But first, I’d like to mention this past year’s accomplishments and distinctions: our program manager and longtime scheduling specialist Karla Allgood was recognized for thirty-five (!) years of service to IU and the Department. Karla really is the soul of the department, and we are so grateful that she has stayed with our Department for the entirety of her career at IU. We wouldn’t be the same without her!
